Legal: Standard Agreements Oil & Gas UK has just launched five new Standard Agreements – all have been developed after a careful and extensive consultation with industry experts, the government, leading industry lawyers and other interested parties. These new Standard Agreements are: Confidentiality Agreement Edition 2 - Jan 2009 Joint Operating Agreement Edition 2 - Jan 2009 Pipeline Crossing Agreement Edition 2 - Jan 2009 Proximity Agreement Edition 1 - Jan 2009 Decommissioning Securities Agreement - Jan 2009                                                                                                   These agreements are state-of-the-art solutions for Oil and Gas industry agreements and are recommended for use by all UKCS Licensees. They succeed in being user-friendly, easy to implement and are widely accepted. This new suite of Standard Agreements have been developed and approved by Oil & Gas UK for use by the UK Offshore industry.   Standardisation of agreements is an important part of the PILOT and industry Commercial Code of Practice objective to help simplify operational and transactional procedures, focus resources and save costs. For some Standard Agreements Guidance Notes - providing useful further explanations and comments - have been developed and are made available alongside the Standard Agreements.
